New Outcomes Tracking Service Added to Enhance Care Provided at SPINE

SPINE has expanded efforts to ensure the delivery of high quality care by tracking patient outcomes utilizing a state-of-the-art web based solution provided by Surgical Outcome Support (www.surgicaloutcomesupport.org). SPINE has engaged Surgical Outcome Support (SOS) to innovatively collect long-term outcomes data and, with other local spine care specialists, will create a platform for the development of a Virtual Center of Excellence. By combining an easy to use online experience for healthcare providers and their patients, SOS has brought academic-level data collection to all tiers of care. The solution stores each patient’s and provider’s data in an encrypted, HIPAA compliant database and, through an online experience, provides reports for private review 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


Local Practitioner’s Research to Appear at World Spine Conference

Jupiter, Florida, July 19, 2007 --- The World Spine Society has accepted a scientific abstract submitted by Michael L. Reed, DPT, MSc, OCS for their biennial meeting entitled World Spine IV: An Interdisciplinary Congress on Spine Care. The academic summit will be held in Istanbul, Turkey beginning July 29 and concluding August 1, 2007. Dr. Reed’s abstract will be one of the electronic poster presentations that will be on display during the event. The study, “Roentgenogram Analysis of the Effects of Deep Trunk Muscle Activation on Lumbar Segmental Orientation and Vertical Displacement,” discusses the effects of muscle activation on spine stability; a growing trend in the treatment of spinal disorders.
